Disconnect to Connect with You

Have you been feeling really tired and you don’t know why? Are you doing all the right things like exercising, eating right and getting at least eight hours of sleep most nights? Maybe you have a busy life, but you’ve always been busy in the past, but never felt so worn out like you do now. So what’s going on? Why can’t you seem to get your Mojo back? Me, like most of you who are reading this column have something in common – we are all ‘plugged in’ nearly 24 hours a day to technology. Our phones haveinternet packets (I ... [ Read More ]

On the Road to Personal Empowerment

I have been on the road for the past two weeks – first to Chiangrai, Thailand, where I held a five day Shamanic Retreat training for five women and then to Hong Kong, where I also spent five days offering private sessions and a Radiantly Well workshop for five women. It seems that the number five was a theme for me, so I decided to look up the numerological meaning of five. I discovered that the spiritual significance of this number is freedom and manifestation. It also represents the number of the five elements: earth, air, water, fire and ether. ... [ Read More ]

The Power of Prayer

As I travel through Mexico seeing and experiencing the ancient Mayan and Aztec ruins, wandering through the streets in Mexico City or lying on the beach in Playa del Carmen, I am moving deeper into my heart and feeling some old wounds surfacing that need my attention. Most of my life I have turned to prayer whether I’m happy or sad. It is the one constant in my life that keeps me connected to both my higher self and the Universe.  I have had a lot of time alone on this trip which has mostly been restorative and healing, but there have ... Solving the Plastic Dilemma

Many years ago plastic never existed on Bali. Balinese would eat off of banana leaves and throw these on the ground or into the river, which would do no harm to the environment. With modernization and the huge rise in tourism, plastic became a way of life for the Balinese and tourists who had become accustomed to the convenience of using plastic products. The negative impact this has had on Bali and throughout Indonesia is quite sobering. ‘Refill Bali’ is tackling the issue of plastic bottles, because this is one of the major areas of waste throughout Bali and the ... Spiritual Journeys

Many people are taking ‘vacations with a purpose’. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to sunbathe on a beautiful beach at a tropical island far away from the madding crowd, this too can become a bit passé for the more discerning traveler who is seeking to explore unchartered territories  – their authentic Self. With so many Spiritual retreats on offer with the majority focusing on yoga, how can you find the right retreat or training for you? It’s a good idea to spend time contemplating what you’re really desiring to learn or explore during your time away. Are you ... [ Read More ]

What Seed Will You Sow in 2017?

2016 was quite an eventful year for many of us. Many friends and clients were challenged with loss  in their lives whether it was a death of a loved one, ending of a job, or the break up of a significant relationship in their lives. 2016 was the year of purification, which means that were faced with the somewhat difficult task of clearing out anything from our lives that was no longer needed, as well as letting go of relationships and situations which were no longer in alignment with who we are choosing to be. For me, it was a surprising year interlaced ... [ Read More ]

Plan for the Soul

I have often felt that there is a plan or blueprint for our souls that is a mystery to most of us. We may get clues to what this divine plan is and follow these almost blindly, never knowing with absolute surety that we are heading in the right direction — the way which will truly foster our personal empowerment and spiritual evolution. I have been lucky enough to get a lot of guidance from my higher self or helping spirits, but many people haven’t cultivated a relationship with their higher self or have no idea how to connect with ... Honoring the Indigenous People of the World

For the past few days I’ve been witnessing the incredible gathering of people in support of stopping the pipeline that is being built through the Standing Rock Reservation which is situated in North and South Dakota. The people of Standing Rock, often called Sioux, are members of the Dakota and Lakota nations. “Dakota” and “Lakota” mean “friends” or “allies.” The Sioux Indians, along with many other Native American Indians from different nations as well as people from all different races worldwide, are protesting the pipeline that will cut through the Sioux Indian’s sacred land and could pollute their water supply. ... What is Vulnerability?

A friend asked me the other day, what does vulnerability mean to me. I pondered her question for a moment and then explained, “Vulnerability is our willingness to be totally real even when it’s uncomfortable — to open up to receiving all the judgment from others without putting up barriers. When we can truly be vulnerable, we discover a totally different kind of strength that allows us to fully step into our authenticity in ways that we have never done before.” I know that most people are terrified to take off the mask and say what they really think, or ... Self Responsibility

I just watched a wonderful video with Oprah who gave a speech about self responsibility. Her words reverberated with power and reaffirmed my own truth about self responsibility. “You are responsible for your life. If you’re waiting around for someone to save you, to fix you, to even help you, you are wasting your time, because only you have the power to take responsibility to move your life forward. And the sooner you get that, the sooner your life gets into gear. What matters is now, this moment, and your willingness to see this moment for what it is. Accept ... [ Read More ]
