Australian Drug Convict Schapelle Corby Returns Home from Bali Convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby arrived in Australia on Sunday after completing a twelve-and-a-half-year sentence for smuggling marijuana to Indonesia, a case which received huge media attention and soured ties between the two countries. Corby landed at Brisbane International Airport with her sister Mercedes Corby and a bodyguard just after 5 a.m., Australian media reported. Family ‘Inconsolable’ After Bali Death The mother of a young Australian who died in a scooter accident in Bali says her family is inconsolable and that the world will be a “poorer place without her”. Ella Knights, 26, was found by a passer-by lying face down in a gutter in Canggu, North Kuta, about 3am on Thursday. Schapelle Corby Asks Bali Officials When She Can Return to Indonesia With just weeks to go until she will be deported to Australia, Schapelle Corby has asked Bali immigration and corrections chiefs when she will be allowed to return to Indonesia. Byron Bay Mother Sara Connor won’t Appeal Bali Jail Sentence Australian woman Sara Connor has told her lawyers she will not appeal against her four-year sentence for her role in the death of a Bali police officer.
